Securing Our Borders

Securing Our Borders

Harrell Vision

Gayle knows that securing the borders is essential to our national and economic security. A border that is not secure serves as a free pathway of entry for terrorists wanting to do us harm. Our system is broken, and immediate measures must be taken to protect our homeland security and national sovereignty.

Gayle says NO to amnesty and opposes social security or other benefits for illegal aliens. Florida spends $1.7 billion of our hard earned money each year on Government services for illegal aliens. Any discussion of a guest worker program for those already here illegally should begin only after our border is secure.

Harrell Record

  • Gayle sponsored the Seaport Security Act, which sets minimum security standards for our seaports. This legislation became a national model.
  • Served as a leader on security issues as a member of the Florida House of Representatives’ Homeland Security and Public Safety Committee and previously on the Domestic Security Committee
  • Led the fight against taxpayer funded healthcare for illegal aliens.
  • Co-sponsored legislation to prohibit employers who have State contracts from employing illegal aliens

The Differences that Matter

  • “It is immoral for my opponent and his Republican colleagues to pass a law that makes illegal immigrants felons when we depend on them for our food. It is immoral for my opponent to sponsor legislation that punishes the weakest among us, the children of illegal aliens, by denying them citizenship so they will not have access to health care and education. These are the wrong morals.”-Tim Mahoney in the 2006 campaign
  • Gayle sponsored legislation to prevent illegal aliens from getting taxpayer funded healthcare insurance.
